A brief style guide for men’s apparels

Men have often contemplated on their clothing choices, while women have a larger variety of apparels to choose from, men only have few but now it is changing. Men apparels in Dwarka do show us that the variety of clothing is wide. The style and the range of choices have changed. The stylists on social media have changed the game altogether. The clothes of women are now being styled on the body of men and the men who carry the styled outfit look effervescent. Now it is no longer a question or rather a differentiation between the clothing/ apparels of men and women, it seems to be the same or at least that is how social media portrays it. But it is only about how you carry a styled look; one must be comfortable and confident in the look she/he carries. The social media and the reality do stand at a distance but the spread of information reaches through and so does the reality changes.

Women mostly, shop from men’s section of the mall, they take a piece of clothing and style it in a way that it co-relates with the outfit. Not just that but the classic blazer-set look paves the way for a woman to turn around the look into ‘Boss-lady’. The question of searching for shops of men and women have changed with the times. The difference now lies only in the traditional apparels of the genders. The traditional apparels cannot be exchanged or perhaps the future might disagree with us, but as far as the present reality goes the traditional do remain at poles hence cannot be exchanged and styled.

My niece, family and amusement

When my little niece was sent away to boarding school in Dehradun, there was an uproar in my family. All the elders were furious and the children were scared. No one seemed to support the idea and everyone started calling up my brother and sister-in-law to give them a piece of their mind. At that time, no one could understand the logic behind this rough decision and the family kept making illogical plans to bring her back home. It took over three months for my brother and his wife to warm everyone to the decision. They wanted to provide a good education to my niece, which was not possible in their hometown due to a lack of good schools in the district. While most of the family stopped making further plans to bring her back home, some kept enquiring about the toys shop in Dehradun so that they could get some toys delivered to her hostel dorm. Her grandfather even took a step further and announced that he would buy a gift shop in Dehradun to be able to send gifts to the little girl o...

Old memories

I am a twenty five year old woman but whenever I find time, I visit a popular toys shop in Dehradun . Dehradun is very close to my town and having a developed city so near to me has always been a great thing. The city is a 30 minute drive from my town and whenever I need a change of air or am feeling blue, I just head over to Dehradun and hang out at Hamleys toy store in Pacific Mall. I find the toy store very warming as it reminds me of my childhood. My late grandfather would take me to a toys shop and a gift shop in Dehradun on the weekends and would encourage me to pick a small toy or an accessory of my choice. I look back at these memories with great love. To relive the memories, I visit the Hamleys toy store and the Archies gift store in Pacific Mall, Dehradun . Sometimes, my brother tags along and I encourage him to pick a small toy or an accessory just like how my grandfather did with me. Lately, my brother has been accompanying me on these trips more frequently. I think he h...

College, Malls and Dreams

I lived in Dwarka, New Delhi for 3 years, from 2013 to 2016, for my college education. I rented a bed in a paying guest accommodation in Dwarka Sector 13 and would travel to Dwarka Sector 9 six days a week. This was my first time living away from home and it took me a while to get used to the independent lifestyle. Things became better when I made a few good friends in college and formed a good social circle. After the college classes, some of us would want to hang out and to find a decent place, we would visit all the malls around looking for a dining establishment where we could sit and relax for hours on end. My friends and I must have visited over 4 malls in a week but found none of them to be operational. We did spot a few food joints but the rush of customers would force us to leave the establishments after our meals. We wished and hoped that someone would build a fully-operational Mall in Dwarka for us but it just did not happen in the three years of our college lives. ...
